Thank you to Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to participate in the blog tour for Blinded me with Science, the second book in Lesson in Love series by Tara September. Blinded Me With Science Opposites attract like a magnet to steel, or in this case, Emerson to Steel Emerson Powers has been so focused on obtaining her science degree that she’s neglected the more social aspects of college life. With the new start of her junior year, she’s determined to fix that with a real hands-on lesson in biology. The assignment is simple enough—teach the rock star’s son how to be good, while he shows her how to be very bad. Two objectives, one outcome … will the lesson be love or heartbreak? Steel is no longer the bad boy Emerson knew from prep school, and he’s set to prove it by helping Emerson complete her secret list of desired college experiences. And if he can convince her that they are meant to be together along the way, even better! While teaming up on experiments, both in and out of the classroom, Emerson discovers a new side to Steel. Leaving her to question everything she thought she knew. Still, is it enough to forgive the past or just mere chemistry? Purchase Links US / UK / CA / AU My thoughts: We really can't get enough STEM-oriented girls and their romance- I'm blaming Ali Hazelwood and her overnight success...But what if your science knowledge is kind of rusty and reading about formulae makes your eyes glaze over (...ehm...Project Hail Mary has somewhat tempered my enthusiasm for maths in fiction)? here are five reasons why you might still enjoy this one: 1 this is a very short, dual POV novella that will take just an hour or two of reading time at most; 2 if you like the campus setting and New Adult fiction in general and are missing your college days (when all you had to worry about were essay deadlines and midterms), you'll feel right at home. All the usual elements are present and the writing is definitely targeting the college age category. I don't want to spoil the story, but Professor Albright's class sounded awesome based on her first lecture. 3 science bits are kept to minimum...scratch that, there's no science and minimum amount of studying, so don't let the title scare you off, focus on the cover and you'll get a much better idea of the book. 4 Everyone loves a good list and the sublime feeling of crossing the completed items off it (better than hot chocolate on a winter day, right?) and Emerson's secret list of desired college experiences is pretty much universal for an archetypal Good Girl. 5 There's no cheating, no miscommunication, and the bad boy isn't just perfectly charming, he is charmingly perfect in every single way. Who doesn't love a good second chance story with a reformed wild teenager determined to do right to win his girl? The only thing I wasn't so happy about was a bit of not like the other girls vibe, but, on the plus side, Emerson and Steel's kisses were hot and no one could deny their chemistry and attraction. Thank you to Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources and the author for the review copy. All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way. Author Bio –

Thank you to Rachel from rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me to participate in the blog tour for A Perfect Discovery, a new contemporary romance by Maragaret Amatt. A Perfect Discovery To find love, they need to dig deep. When kind-hearted archaeologist Rhona Lamond has her precious research stolen, she returns home to the Isle of Mull, lost and frustrated. An island project that tugs at Rhona’s soul comes up, and she’s desperate to take it on. But there’s a major problem. Property developer Calum Matheson has a longstanding feud with the Lamond family. After a plot of land he owns is discovered to be a site of historical importance, his plans are thrown into disarray and building work put on hold. Calum doesn’t think things can get any worse, until archaeologist Rhona turns up. Not only is she a Lamond, but she’s all grown up, and even stubbornly unromantic Calum can’t fail to notice her – or the effect she has on him. Their attraction ignites but how can they overcome years of hate between their families? Both must decide what’s more important, family or love. Purchase Link UK / US My thoughts: A Perfect Discovery is book nine in Margaret Amatt’s Scottish Island Escapes series. If you’re considering picking up this lovely romance set on the Isle of Mull, but you haven’t read the previous books, don’t worry, it works perfectly well as a standalone, although you may want to go back and gorge on some of the secondary characters love stories (e.g.Beth, Kirsten, Georgia) -getting to see their HEA and then finding out how they got there is incredibly satisfying! Rhona Lamond is a twenty-eight year old archeologist who has just come back home after an unscrupulous colleage has taken advantage of her kindness and team spirit. Rhona would love to make a good use of her degree and get into doing consultancy work after countless volunteer jobs. She doesn’t lack knowledge or enthusiasm, but she needs experience of working on evaluating archeological conditions attached to property development, and here is a perfect opportunity, right next to her parents’ house. The only problem is the land belongs to the Lamonds’ archi-enemy- Calum Matheson. A dark event from school years sparked years of their families’ feud, but Rhona is open-minded and would love nothing better than do this job and hopefully discover something new and important. I loved the character of Rhona- she is quiet and sweet, but in the end it is time for her to re-evaluate her relationships and how she deals with conflict- some things are so important that you have to be ready to fight for them. My sister-in-law is an archeologist, so it was lovely to see this career shown in a work of fiction in a realistic light- there’s joy and celebration of discovering a new artefact, but there are also endless digs and lots of sifting through mud and dirt and endless paperwork to accompany it. Calum is also an interesting character, clearly cast as a villain by his neighbours and a large proportion of the population of the island, Calum is keen to prove himself and become successful through his own hard work. There’s a mystery of what really happened when he was at school, but I won’t give the story away. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and as usual I has to do a bit of cyber-travelling reading the book. Add Rhona’s enthusiasm and vivid imagination in re-creating scenes of past life and it’s difficult not to dream of seeing this lovely place with your own eyes. I really enjoyed Calum’s redemption story- it was great to see more of his family and loyal friends. The resolution seemed almost too easy after all these years of a veritable Romeo and Juliet kind of feud, but we all want to believe in the power of love, forgiveness, and clear communication. Lovely addition to a sweet and entertaining series! Can’t wait to come back to the Isle of Mull in the next story and witness another couple find their happily-ever-after! My thoughts:
Summer is finally with us and what can be better than reading a lively, lighthearted romcom on a hot summer day like this? If you're stuck for choice, here is Melanie Mutton's newest release and it's fun, fun, fun!!! I don't know about you, but I adore lists, so no wonder this book won me over from page one. Scratch that, it was the cover that told me straightaway- my favourite tropes of enemies-to-lovers and GrumpyVersus Sunshine are coming in one hot package! Mia Sparks, a sweet and hard-working girl everybody in her small town of Shell Grove loves, knows she needs to stay away from her ridiculously hot and, yes, ridicullously grumpy boss, and the reasons make a list as long as her arm...But what can you do when there's the proverbial spark and the chemistry is just off the charts? Aiden maybe a shrewd businessman everyone loves to hate, but perhaps there's more to him than his evil reputation? One thing you can count on- he knows Mia is special and worth fighting for. I was looking for a quick and entertaining read and I knew Melanie Mutton never disappoints. I flew through this fast-paced book in a couple blissful hours and now I can't wait to come back to Shell Grove and find out what future has in store for Mia's friends! Title: Maybe We Won't Author: Melissa Foster Genre: Contemporary Romance About Maybe We Won't: A sexy and soul-stirring novel about love, family, and rediscovering what matters most by Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe We Will. When workaholic Boston attorney Deirdra de Messiéres is passed over for a well-deserved promotion, she takes a two-month hiatus to show her boss just how much he needs her and heads home to Silver Island. But beyond seeing her sisters happy, home is not where Deirdra’s heart is. She has no interest in their family restaurant, the Bistro, or reliving hurtful childhood memories, and absolutely no interest in spending a single second with Josiah “Jagger” Jones, the Bistro’s too-laid-back musician and chef. Sure, the hippie is hot, but he drives her nuts. The guy lives in a van with his dog, and he can’t even commit to a solid work schedule. To make matters worse, he’s always around. She needs to get off the island, stat. Jagger has overcome his own personal trials to place stock in life’s pleasures: family, friends, peace…and if he has his way, one positively beautiful, absolutely uptight attorney. Jagger knows he’s the perfect person to help Deirdra deal with her hurtful past and find her way back to being happy. A chance encounter leads to deep conversation, and night after liberating night, Deirdra lets down her guard. But neither has plans to stay on Silver Island. Free-spirited Jagger has wanderlust, and Deirdra has a career to return to. They’re on different paths, and plans for a future together don’t stand a chance. But when has anything gone according to plan? My thoughts:
Maybe We Won't is the third novel in Melissa Foster's Silver Harbor trilogy set in her Silver Island romantic universe. I really looked forward to Deidra's book and it didn't disappoint. There was Melissa's trademark passion and sexiness, tender moments interspersed with hilarious banter, and, above all, a clear focus on what matters the most- family, kindness, finding yourself and helping others- real love! While all three books can be read as standalones, I recommend starting from Maybe We Will, where we learnt about Abby and Deidra's childhood -you will get a better understanding and emotional build-up to Deidra's story. In books 1 and 2 we see Deidra as a mysterious workaholic, dedicated to her career of a corporate lawyer. It is almost as if she is running away from her home island. Anything unplanned and free-spirited reminds her of the selfishness of her alcoholic mother. Laidback, sympathetic Jagger is Deidra's sunny opposite, but if anyone can help her process her complex feelings towards her mother and help her embrace life, that's Jagger. There's so much chemistry between these two unlikely soulmates, you will never doubt they were meant to be together! I really liked the research and thought that went into creating Gabe, Jagger's younger brother. If you are a fan of Melissa's previous books, you know there will be lots of familiar faces and happy couples from the island's big family. An emotional, engaging, passionate book about forgiveness, patience. and family- fans of Melissa Foster are going to be delighted with this final book in her De Messieres sisters trilogy and will start looking forward to reading Melissa's next story. Thank you to Netgalley, Montlake, the author and InkslingerPR for the review copy provided in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.

Bride and Tested
Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo / Google Play -- EXCERPT: “I propose a toast.” Mika raises her lipstick-rimmed glass. “To finding an outstanding partner and crushing this year’s wedding season.” “I’ll always drink to the success of my business.” I raise my glass too and clink it gently against hers. “The right person is going to come through. I can tell.” “Is this like the time you could tell Lincoln was going to propose? Because, although you were right, I’m hoping for a better outcome this time.” Preferably one which doesn’t involve getting my heart broken. “Hey, Lincoln wasn’t all bad. You ended up in Enita Springs, you met me and you got his last name out of the deal for Bennett’s Bridal. The power of good alliteration cannot be underestimated.” “True enough.” I laugh. “Are we talking about him yet?” Mika asks, her voice softening. “Specifically, are we talking about what happened this morning because I think we should.” I give a sharp shake of my head. “Definitely not.” Mika studies me for a long minute then nods, too. “Okay. I figured, but you know I’m here when you want to process things.” “I’m probably never going to want to process this.” I’d rather talk about a silent investor than what happened this morning with Lincoln. My face feels ten degrees hotter just thinking about it. “Okay, fine.” Mika nods again and then says, “I’m just going to point out you’re bound to run into him again. Enita Springs isn’t big. Do you have a plan for when you do?” Besides turn and run the other way? No. To Mika I say, “I don’t need a plan. I’m sure it will be fine.” “Because you’ve dealt with all the feelings seeing him brought up or because you’re still avoiding said feelings?” “What’s there to deal with? I was embarrassed, which is understandable.” And the time before I was so nervous I thought my chest was going to explode, but being nervous is perfectly normal. “Besides, it’s stupid. We’ve been divorced longer than we were married.” “Just because time has passed doesn’t mean you’ve dealt with your feelings about the end of your marriage.” “Feelings, schmeelings. I’m avoiding them, and it’s working for me so far.” I take a sip of my wine. “Just like I plan to avoid Lincoln.” “You two were the happiest couple I knew,” Mika says softly. My heart feels like someone’s squeezing it and I’d wonder if I was having a sudden heart attack if I didn’t recognize it for what it is – nostalgia. “We were really happy, as much as it pains me to admit it.” “Why does it pain you to admit it? Being happy is a good thing.” “Not when you squander it like we did.” I take a deep breath, hoping it will help my chest expand again. “You never saw him after you guys filed for divorce. It might be good for you to actually, you know, have a conversation with him about what happened.” Mika raises her glass to her lips and looks at me over the rim. “For closure.” “I have the signed divorce papers, which is enough closure for me. Besides, I’m avoiding him, remember?” “Hmmm.” Mika takes a sip of her wine but doesn’t say anything else. She doesn’t need to. I know what she’s thinking, just like I know she’s wrong. I have zero intention of seeing Lincoln again if I can help it. If I do, I can always go with my unofficial plan to turn and run the other way and pray he doesn’t see me. Because if he does, it’s not going to take him long to realize I still have feelings for him. Deep and complicated feelings I have no business having. Especially for my ex-husband. Add in the real reason I didn’t fight for us and, well…avoiding him is my only choice.

Starting Over at Primrose Woods Abbey Carter should be feeling on top of the world. She has the home of her dreams – a picturesque cottage just walking distance from her beloved Primrose Woods. She has a job she loves, great friends, and most exciting of all – a wedding dress hanging in her wardrobe ready to be worn. So why does she feel so lonely… Lizzie Baker loves her job at the Treetops café in Primrose Woods, and she loves being a grandmother even more. If only she could face her fear of flying and see her granddaughter in person rather than on a screen. Rhianna West is head over heels for her boyfriend Jay. She just wishes he could see her more regularly. His excuses are starting to wear thin, and Rhi’s dreams for the future are beginning to fade. Can the fun and friendships, the picture-perfect scenery and rolling seasons in Primrose Woods help the women find the happy endings they deserve? After all anything is possible if you dare to dream… An absolute treat of a book. Let Jill Steeples whisk you away into the beautiful countryside for the perfect feel-good comfort read. Just right for fans of Cathy Bramley, Heidi Swain and Julie Houston. Purchase Link My thoughts: My first book by Jill Steeples and I'm so charmed know it won't be the last. Sweet, cozy, relaxing, this book is full of lovely countryside views and decent people (with one very notable exception) on the brink of getting a second chance at love. The three main female characters couldn't have been more different. Abbie with her sweet and caring personality also carries a touch of vulnerability and sadness, perhaps due to missing her late mother. Deep down she knows her relationship with her fiance Jayson has seen more downs than ups recently. They are heading to the altar in just three weeks time, so should she even be listening to her heart which is telling that not everything is right despite having been together with Jason for twelve years. Confident and decisive Rhianna is so consumed with her whirlwind romance with Jay to have not time or energy to make friends in the place she moved to after graduating. There are warning bells ringing in her head too...Why is Jay being so secretive about them and when exactly will he be completely free of his nagging, petty ex? Fifty-nine-year-old Lizzy would love nothing more than to see her her daughter Katie who live in Australia. Her fear of flying is so debilitating that Lizzy's only hope to properly meet her granddaughter Rosie is to wait for her Katie's family to come over and visit her...Until she gets both good news and bad news. All three characters were charming and realistic, flawed and decent at the same time. They are a kind of people you would like to have as neighbours or even friends. As you have already guessed the three stories are interwoven and are connected with each other through a lovely place- The Primrose Woods Park. I loved the descriptions of nature and fabulous walks..I can't help thinking that the author had a particular place in mind she based these vigniettes on. I really enjoy second chance romances and can often see myself at a crossroads moment of my life going through similar emotions or my friends second-guessing whether they are ever going to find an honest, reliable partner who is going to love and appreciate them. I also like the inclusion of two widowed protagonists who have a different kind of challenges. If you like books with a small-town setting, but are a bit apprehensive of their way too coomon focus on gossip, rest assured Starting Over at Primrose Woods is nothing like that. What you get instead is healing nature, a sweet and playful dog, a traditional country pub, and lots of thoughtful, kind people, genuinely caring about each others' feelings. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys low-angst books with clean romance in a lovely setting. Definitely looking forward to reading more from this author! Thank you to Rachel, Boldwood books and the author for the review copy, provided in exchange for an honest opinion. Thank you to Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to participate in the blog tour for A Stranger's Revenge, a new legal thriller by K.J.McGillick. A Stranger’s Revenge When art law attorney Abigail Clarke is mistaken for the murdered twin sister she never knew existed, will she be able to outwit a man determined to kill every member of her treacherous family. Thirty years ago, during a thunderstorm, on an isolated street in South Boston, an unidentified two-year-old girl was discovered, abandoned, shot, barely clinging to life. After a thorough investigation, the case was eventually designated to the cold case files until Abigail Clarke, now an astraphobic art law attorney, is mistaken for the murdered twin sister she never knew existed. What the FBI Art Crime Division cannot determine is if Abigail is an innocent bystander or a co-conspirator in her sister’s art fraud crimes. Compelled to uncover all her family’s secrets, nothing prepares Abigail for the disastrous meeting with her murderous brother and crime boss father. Her life is irreversibly changed the more she becomes mired in her family’s treachery. She soon finds herself drawn into a game of cat and mouse by the vengeful killer who methodically plans to execute every member of her family, holding each one of them ultimately responsible for the murder of his own family thirty years ago. Purchase Links UK / US My thoughts: This is my second book by Kathleen Mcgillick and I knew this newest book is also going to fast-paced, action-packed and impossible to put down. Exactly what it proved to be! Abby Clark is an attorney specialising in art law, so when a new client asks her to accompany him to an auction and assist him in purchasing two paintings, she sets aside her irrational distrust of the man and flies to Boston. The auction house unexpectedly withdraws the offer which clearly infuriates Abby's client. On her return home Abby finds out that FBI have identified her...as a possible murder victim. In fact, even Abby herself can't deny she looks a veritable doppelganger of the girl strangled in a dark alley in Boston. A quick DNA analysis confirms what was already obvious to everyone- the victim was Abby's twin sister Aisling Dolan, an Irish national. Abby herself was shot and left for dead at the age of two. While she has a loving family, great friends and fantastic career, she is also suffering from anxiety and abandonment issues related to her early childhood. Time to find out what exactly happened to Aisling and who exactly were her biological parents. Now Abby is quite an interesting character. She is loyal to her friends and her family, but she is obviously quite impulsive, even reckless. Some of her comments about Ireland rubbed me the wrong way- it was as if Abby was determined to see only negative things about her birthplace to simplify her complex feelings about what happened to her as a child. I wasn't so sure about her 'in-built lie detector'. One thing you have to give to Abby- she is decisive and always ready to act. Abby's grandma Stasha with her little thermos of Dutch courage (shhh, don't tell anyone) was a real hoot! I loved the little legal details introduced here and there in the book, from Abby giving her psychiatrist friend Maura help with her unusal predicament to Abby's 'hypothetical' conversation with her partner Gregory. It's clear that the author knows what she is writing about and knows how to pique and keep the reader's interest. The pace is fast and there is quite a high body count in this action-packed thriller. Some settings were extremely evocative and I could easily see this book adapted for the silver screen- Hollywood, are you listening? Overall, this was a very quick, compulsive read, perfect for anyone who enjoys suspense, action, international settings and books about stolen art. Looking forward to Kathleen's next book! Thank you to Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to participate in the blog tour for Rosie Dean's new gorgeous romance- Toni's Blind Date.
Toni’s Blind Date
Toni Spielman and Will Thomas have no plans to date -- anyone -- but when fate throws them together on a TV dating show, they have to smile, pretend, and rethink their plans. Purchase Link - mybook.to/Tonis_Blind_Date
My thoughts:
Toni's Blind Date is my first book by Rosie Dean and it was as much fun as its way too brief blurb suggests. If you're a fan of British chick-lit, you'll love this one. Toni Spielman goes through some serious personal drama at the beginning of the book and she could really do with a few weeks back home. Home isn't easy to define with Toni who has an American mother and a Briitsh father, both of whom are celebrities. Toni's Dad Ricky is only happy to have her work as an assistant in his TV show productions company. His dating show has plenty of colourful participants and a presenter great at coming up with quick innuendo one-liners, but could this blatant lack of romance be the reason the show's been losing audience figures?. Could Will Thomas's idea for a new series work better? when Ricky suggests Will go on the show, Will reluctantly agrees. The fate finally smiles at him when the lovely assistant who fixed his mike before the airtime turns out to be the contestant the audience voted to be his love match. Off they go on a romantic skiing holiday, keeping their secrets, safe in the knowledge that nothing truly romantic can happen on a blind date like this. Both protagonists were really sweet. Toni gives an impression of being a quiet and steady girl who values honesty and family above anything else. Will also seems to be a person who might have been too accomodating, but he is a good man who does wear his heart on the sleeve. They are indeed a well-matched couple. There are some great secondary characters- Toni's cousin, her father, Will's sister to mention just a few. They are quirky and witty and do serve the purpose of underling the message of the importance of family relations. In case you were wondering, the romance is of a slow-burn nature (so slow I began wondering if they were ever going to get together, no spoilers, but they do), and looking at the overall plot development, it worked for me. You need time to work through some things in your life before you can be sure a new relationship can be anything more than a rebound or something to spur on a new life stage. Overall, it was a lovely holiday romcom, with more romance than comedy- sweet and upbeat. I'm really glad to have discovered this new to me author and I can't wait to read her next book! Thank you to Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources, the author and the publisher for the review copy, provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

Today I'm delighted to participate in the blog tour for Robin Bielman's latest romance The Wedding Crasher and The Cowboy. Title: The Wedding Crasher & The Cowboy Genre: Contemporary Romance Synopsis: Kennedy Martin is shocked when her ex calls days before his wedding, expressing serious second thoughts. Doesn’t he see his fiancée's actually the glaze to his doughnut? Now she’s got no choice but to crash his wedding and convince the man he’s with the right woman. Instead, she crashes into the absolute last man she ever wanted to see: Maverick Owens, her old college nemesis. Maverick is still as awful, infuriating, and just The Worst as ever—even if he looks way too sexy in his cowboy hat. And of course he’s convinced she’s actually at the seaside ranch to ruin the wedding. Now the only way to get some face time with the groom and save this marriage is to participate in all sorts of pre-wedding events…with Maverick. Stuck on a canoe, making small-talk at cocktail hour, and even a hoedown with her worst enemy? This just might be the longest week of her life… Buy Links: Amazon | Paperback | Amazon CA | Amazon UK | Amazon AU| Barnes & Noble | iBooks | Google Play | Kobo My thoughts: Just admire this lovely cover for a moment. So full of sunshine and hope- this is exactly what this book is like. Kennedy Martin is the kind of person who never loses her calm-at least at work and she'd better not to, as she is an ER doctor. She's a person who will listen to you attentively and genuinely care about what you're saying, ready to step in and help if necessary. So when her ex-boyfriend Reed, not the latest ex (you'll just have to read the book to find out what that one did), calls her out of blue during his bachelor party and confesses he isn't sure he wants to get married, For the sake of their friendship, she needs to help him. There's only one snag- Kennedy wasn't invited to the wedding, which means she needs to crash the wedding to talk to him to make sure he's making the right decision. Whatever it will be. And if the event happens to take place on a ranch which belongs to her old college rival/archinemesis Maverick Owen's family, so be it. Nothing will stop this five feet tall, stubborn woman from ensuring her friend's future marital bliss. But as there's still a whole week before Reed's nuptials, there's plenty of time to find out why were Maverick and Kennedy trying to outdo each other at the pre-med school, what happened to them afterwards. There's plenty of time to fall in love (again) and maybe even have your heart broken. Or mended. Once again, I want to sing praise to the author who chooses a good guy as her protagonist. Romance books are full of 'flawed, but so charming' playboys-makes life interesting, right? wrong! makes life full of stress and anxiety. Give me Maverick any day! He's the proverbial good man who is so hard to find. I absolutely adored Kennedy and her insatiable thirst for knowledge about everything and everyone around her. She's sweet, hard-working, optimistic and likeable. Maybe not as likeable as her friend Andrew with his improvised stories that kept poor Kennedy on her toes. There were several moments in this book where I just couldn't help tearing up, but overall, There's more emotion in this book than carefree banter and it felt right. Sometimes this is exactly what you need- a sweet story of finding love when you are ready for it and not taking anything for granted, but taking care of people you love here and now. Thank you to Inkslinger PR, NetGalley, the publisher (Entangled Amara) and the author for the review copy, provided in exchange for an honest opinion. Author Bio:
